Bangalow Markets/Byron Bay Day Trip - Sunday 25 MayParticipants –
The morning started off with Debbie, Nikki, Graeme and l meeting up at the BP Beaudesert at 8am and having last cuppas before heading off to Bangalow. Howard and Juliet joined us not long after. Was a pleasant trip down and I’m sure Graeme will rue the day he offered his passenger seat to me for the trip. I'm really not such a gas bagger but l noticed the miles flew by a little faster as we chatted non stop, often missing relayed messages from Debbie about points of interest. (Yes, we were interested in where the desalination plant was...really) Bangalow is a quaint little town, the markets rich in everything that could please the eye - organic produce and food to delight your palate, multicoloured clothing/hats/shoes etc of all descriptions -size, shape and season, people of all cultures, religious backgrounds, shapes, size and otherwise and music to insult and appease all savage beasts. It was a beautiful relaxing stroll around the markets before heading to the local pub for a quench thirsting drink and a little lunch before heading off to Byron Bay. Howard and Juliet left us at this point to go for a little sightseeing of their own before heading home. Byron Bay was as beautiful as ever, after a stroll around the shops we headed off to the pub for a little refreshment and an ice cream before the trip home. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing self indulgent day, with good company. Thanks to Debbie for organising a lovely social event. I look forward to the next trip. Lisa Nehring Back to Top
